Doug joined us in 2007 to help start up MUI's Direct Property Facultative Operation in Kansas City. He is now responsible for ongoing Western Region DPF operations. Doug has over 20 years of industry experience, most recently as Direct Property Facultative Underwriter at Wellington Specialty Insurance (now Catlin). Prior to joining Wellington in 2003, he served as a wholesale property broker for Westrope Associates. Doug previously worked at Liberty Mutual, Employers Reinsurance and Kemper where he held a variety of positions including reinsurance underwriting, large account underwriting and loss control engineering.
Doug graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He is a Chartered Casualty Property Underwriter (CPCU) and also holds the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations.
